Brandon Sanderson is not an Anthropic engineer. He’s the fantasy author (Mistborn, Stormlight Archive). Searching for him in connection with Anthropic/Claude Code returns only his commentary on AI as an author.
The actual lead/creator of Claude Code at Anthropic is Boris Cherny (per Pragmatic Engineer, Lenny’s Newsletter, Fortune). He joined Anthropic in September 2024, previously Principal Engineer at Meta, author of Programming TypeScript. Notably, your memory at project_people_todo.md already flags “add Boris Cherny” as pending — which matches.
A couple of possibilities:
- Database error — “Brandon Sanderson” was entered in place of Boris Cherny (or someone else) for this slug.
- Different person — there’s a real Anthropic engineer by that name with no public footprint, in which case I can’t research them honestly.
